Before the scuba diving fun begins, you should understand that by signing up for or if you participate in a course booked through Sai Kung Scuba, you agree to the following:
Sai Kung Scuba is a registered PADI Dive Centre, registration code 27632.
Sai Kung Scuba is a trading name under Sai Kung Industries (HK Company Number: 2932122) and any or all references to Sai Kung Scuba in this document represent Sai Kung Industries.
The participant/guardian/financially responsible party, herein referred to as “diver,” understands that diving with compressed air involves certain inherent risks; including but not limited to decompression sickness, embolism or other hyperbaric/air expansion injury that require treatment in a recompression chamber. The diver further understands that the open water diving trips which are necessary for training and for certification may be conducted at a site that is remote, either by time or distance or both, from such a recompression chamber.
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any scuba diving course, the diver hereby personally assumes all risks of this program, whether foreseen or unforeseen, that may befall them while they are a participant in this program including, but not limited to, the classroom, confined water and/or open water activities.
The diver also understand that skin diving and scuba diving in the pool and the ocean are physically strenuous activities and that the diver will be exerting themselves during this course, and that if the diver is injured as a result of heart attack, panic, hyperventilation, drowning or any other cause, that they expressly assume the risk of said injuries and that they will not hold Sai Kung Scuba and their Professional Staff, or PADI and their agents, responsible for the same.
Course Bookings
- 1.1. All divers listed on a Course booking will be included in the booking and the charges will be applied to all spaces booked.
- 2.2. The full fee will be charged to confirm the booking. This fee is nonrefundable. Any additional outstanding balance for the course shall be due upon qualification or upon cancellation by the participant.
- 1.2. Candidates using equipment supplied to them through Sai Kung Scuba or 3rd Party Company for any course are responsible for that equipment and will be charged for any loss or damage howsoever caused by the participant. Cost as below:Dive computer- HKD$2200
Compass- HKD$350
BCD- $250-2000
Regulator- HKD$150-3000
Fins/mask- HKD$400
Wetsuit- HKD$700
Torch- HKD$680
Weights- HKD$100/weight
Weight Belt- $50 - 1.3. Candidates may not participate in diving activities without a satisfactorily completed medical statement and statement of understanding and assumption of risk. Any delays caused to the course by failure to complete these administrative and medical requirements will be chargeable at the missed session rate.
- 1.4 Course Cancellations or Rescheduling made by you:
You are entitled to reschedule your Course dates with a minimum of 72hrs notice. All cancellations or rescheduling can be made by emailing scuba@saikungindustries.com. If part of a group booking, all members within the group must also reschedule to complete the course together. Receipt will be confirmed in writing via email. - 1.5 Any reschedule within 72hrs of course start or non-attendance of scheduled sessions will be charged at the missed session rate.
Missed session rates as below:
Pool day- $1000/3 hr session
Shore day- HKD$750
Boat day- HKD$1250 - 1.6. All PADI courses MUST be completed within 6 months of your course start day. Courses not completed within 6 months of booking will forfeit any fees paid unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon.
- 1.7 Course Cancellations or Rescheduling made by us:
It is highly unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your Course arrangements. However, occasionally we may have to make changes (for example, a pool location change may be necessary or Dive Site for training) and we reserve the right to do so at any time. - 1.8 We also reserve the right to cancel your Course arrangements, for example, if the instructor falls ill and a replacement cannot be found in time. However, in the unlikely scenario we ever would cancel we will reschedule your booked Course to another planned Course in the future.
- 1.9. IMPORTANT NOTE: Refunds or any compensation payments do not apply for reschedule your Course or to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure). We can cancel or reschedule your Course in the following circumstances: war, threat of war, riots, civil strife or terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, technical problems with transport, technical problems in general, airport closures, bad weather conditions and similar events beyond our control.
- 1.10. If students fail to meet the performance requirements on any dive or knowledge development session during courses, or ignore the instructions and briefings of SKS staff during any dive, at the sole discretion of the instructor/DM Sai Kung Scuba reserves the right to charge for repeating that dive or session. Additional costs as seen in 1.5.
- 1.11. Neither Sai Kung Scuba its employees or contractors can be held responsible for damage to or loss of any personal equipment caused prior to, during or after any diving activities.
- 1.12. Any unpaid charges incurred during the course may result in suspension of training and the withholding of certification until paid in full.
- 1.13. Participants agree to abide by the rules and decisions of Sai Kung Scuba, its staff and subcontractors in all diver-training matters.
- 1.15. Any refunds after the deposit has been paid AND all course materials received are at the discretion of Sai Kung Scuba.
